About Tracy Borrelli

MODE’s vision is for people and organizations to know the impact they make.

MODE’s mission is to be curious, asking the right questions from the start, making data smarter, so that people can tell impact stories that they can be confident in.

Hi, I’m Tracy Borrelli, the sole proprietor of MODE Management of Data & Evaluation. With a background in psychology and case management in the non-profit sector, my career has always been rooted in helping programs and teams make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people they serve.

My journey into research and evaluation began during my bachelor’s degree in 1999, where I completed my first full-scale study on anger management for women offenders in prison. That experience sparked my passion for using evidence to drive change. Since then, I’ve been committed to equipping non-profit organizations with the tools and data they need to improve programs and amplify their impact.

In 2005, I temporarily stepped away from direct work in the sector to gain my master’s degree and contribute to a large-scale community-based research project. My goal was clear: to bring university-quality tools, research methods, and data analysis back to the community programs that needed them most.

When I returned to the non-profit sector in 2011 as a program evaluator, I embraced the opportunity to partner deeply with management, staff, and clients to explore and create knowledge together. I leaned into every opportunity to build relationships and sharpen my skills, including:

  • Group facilitation and interdisciplinary teamwork,

  • Program planning and developmental evaluation,

  • Presenting complex ideas in plain English, and

  • Using communication technologies tailored to diverse audiences.

Today, I’m proud to integrate these experiences with my work as a Program Strategist, helping leaders and teams navigate complex systems and align their efforts with community goals. My approach is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to creating spaces where diverse voices are heard, and progress is possible.

I continue to expand my knowledge in human development, teamwork, and systems thinking. Sharing that knowledge generously—whether through partnerships, blog posts, or community discussions—is at the heart of what I do.
